Okay here is the discussion group...this is your turn to tell me what you think....
What does it mean to be a christian?
Is going to church a social club or is it for worship..?
Do go by a manual like the bible or do you go by what others do? Just wondering what you think....Thanks for being part of it

Okay here goes. I like to say that I want to have a heart like David. One that the Lord notices is one that follows after Him. I believe that this is the epitome of being a christian, your heart-matter. I believe if you are chasing after Christ and have a heart for Him, the rest will come naturally... church, missions, volunteering. It's about the heart. Like the Word says "and the greatest of these is Love." Heart Matter - Loving God with all of your heart. Just my two cents.
ReplyDeleteTo be a Christian initially is to repent and ask Him into your heart to change you, to help you choose the "right" way. But we try to do that "right way" the way we see others living it, like toddlers trying to act like adults.
ReplyDeleteFor me, there was a "survival" stage where all you can do is die to self and let Christ live in you, because otherwise, it's just too hard to do on your own.
So now, it's just choosing to walk with God. To think He counts us worthy to be in His presence is just amazing. To see His humor in giraffes, elephants, and bubblefish.
He created ants that always work, and sloths that seem to do nothing. We live in luxury while others watch their children starve. I don't get it, nor do I understand. But I know He's my Father, and that's by His choice. He loves me anyway, and I can trust Him.
I think when we try to "be" a Christian, we mess it up. "Being" a Chrisian is that little speck of Him shining through us that makes us different.
